Statistical methods are the backbone of many studies on past and future extreme events in a changing climate. Within ClimXtreme-II, the eight sub-projects with a focus on statistics are collected in module B.
Between September 30th and October 2nd 2024, scientists from module B convened at TU Dortmund for their second official module meeting. Here, a main focus lay on the science, with each project presenting recent and ongoing work and collecting ideas and feedback from their colleagues. In addition, the status and future directions of the overarching ClimXtreme-II activities – HaSSI groups and PostAG – were discussed in some detail.
Lastly, a small team from Bochum, Berlin and Potsdam was formed to plan and prepare the upcoming research training day at the Module C meeting in Gießen.
